Message From the President
It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that Dick died this week after a short illness. Everybody who knew him will miss his wit, intelligence and charm and I am sure you will join me in wishing his wife, Jill, and their family our sincerest condolences. His contributions to the industry are further outlined on Page 2 of the newsletter.
Simon Stromberg's Value of Information course on 18th April at Burlington House was very well received and we would like to thank Senergy for giving the LPS the opportunity to run this course.

SPWLA Distinguished lecturer, Austin Boyd gave as an excellent talk on Carbonate Petrophysics in April, many thanks to him and Schlumberger.
This month we are getting a second SPWLA Distinguished lecturer Gordon Moake on Pe Measuement and Accurate Pe Equations, and two talks in July, one form Brian Moffat on reservoir water geochemistry and another from Stephen Amuda on geomechanical models. Stephan has received LPS grants under our Iain Hillier award scheme to support his PhD.
Although last month's meeting was very well attended, we would still like to hear from the membership on ways we could improve evening meetings. So please take time to let us know what sort of topics you would like to hear at the evening meetings. Also whether changing the day of the week or the frequency of the meetings would make it easier for you to attend, or even having beer as well as wine and fruit juice. Any suggestion will be very welcome.
