Message From the President

This year has really started with a bang for the LPS. The New Technology Seminar in January was very successful, where a big audience saw some really informative presentations, thanks to all concerned. Be-cause of the success of this year's seminar we are considering making it a full day next year; it will still be free to attend.

I have just got back from this year’s University Open Day at Derby University see above photo!. We had over 120 Geosciences and Engineering students from Derby, Leeds, Leicester and Manchester. BG Group, BP, Kirk Petrophysics and Schlumberger all had stands. We had five excellent technical presentations with speakers from academia, oil companies and the service sector. Many thanks to our VP External Relations, Jeremy Farrow for organising such a successful event

On 20th February we have two students making presentations at our evening meeting. And we have the Pressure and Sampling seminar on 13th March, with full details within the newsletter on each.
