There is now a requirement for an experienced petrophysicist to join the Geoscience Team based in the London office. THE ROLE Reporting to the Chief Geologist and working within a multi-disciplinary environment, this position will liaise closely with the subsurface teams and be central to the provision of petrophysical input into geological and reservoir simulation models, reserve estimates, field reviews, field development and appraisal planning projects. This role is primarily project focused however you will be required to provide operational cover for the Expert Petrophysicist who has primary responsibility for all Open hole and Cased hole acquisition programmes. He/she will also provide petrophysical input to the evaluation of new venture opportunities as they arise. THE REQUIREMENTS Candidates will be engineering or geoscience graduates with a track record of working on field development projects and appraisal planning and drilling, ideally gained with either an operating oil company or a large service provider. With broad, practical international experience in petrophysics, the ideal candidate will be capable of rapid generation of detailed petrophysical analysis on individual wells and at field/regional scale with prompt and concise reporting to management. Highly motivated and with good interpersonal skills, he/she will have the ability to work in an integrated team environment with the minimum of supervision, to analyse petrophysical data efficiently and to produce results upon operational requests within a limited time frame. Familiarity with Geolog 6 and Petrel would be a distinct advantage and candidates should be fully conversant with the latest developments in logging tools, acquisition methods and interpretation techniques.
